We have six veterinarians here to see patients, consult with pet owners, and perform medical and surgical procedures.

- Dr. Micheal Anthony is the original vet here at the Bellevue Veterinary Hospital. He founded the practice in 1980, and has watched the community grow ever since. He was raised and educated in Ireland and received his veterinary training there at University College Dublin, graduating in 1973. He has two children and raises alpacas in his spare time.

- Dr. Jeff Allen has been part of the practice since 1988 and has had great influence in keeping the Veterinary Housecall Service available to our clients. He is on the road (on housecalls) 3 days a week (presently Mon, Wed, & Thursdays), and available in the hospital for surgeries and appointments during the remainder. He is also certified in veterinary acupuncture . Dr. Allen is originally from Ontario and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 1978.

- Dr. Shelagh Hislop has been here since 1992 after her graduation from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She is originally from Calgary, but has happily settled into life on the Island. Her love of animals and people are what drew her to veterinary medicine as a career. Shelagh is raising two children, and has also been single-handedly responsible for the (novice) development and (unfortunately infrequent) updating of this web site. She's trying to find more time for everything!

- Dr. Kevin Keller has been at the Bellevue practice since spring of 1997. Previous to that he was at a veterinary practice in Campbell River, and an emergency clinic in Ontario. He is originally from Queenston, Ontario (near Niagara Falls) and attended the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, graduating in 1992. Dr. Keller is certified in veterinary chiropractic and has particular interest in that field. He is available at the clinic 4 days a week.

- Dr. Jeff Dahl started working with us in May 2000 immediately after his graduation from Western College of Veterinary Medicine, and is now well established in our clinic and our community. Jeff originates from the Victoria area and was glad to return to the Island from his veterinary training in Saskatoon where he worked 2 summers in the department of radiology. We're sure he was born with veterinary medicine in his genes because both of his parents are veterinarians too!
- Dr. Natacha Lesage started her work with us in mid-March 2006. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 2002. Prior to her work here, she has practiced veterinary medicine in Oregon and also in England, as she and her husband have travelled in Europe the last couple of years. Dr. Lesage has a very gentle nature and thus has a calming influence on our four-legged patients. Natacha is going on maternity leave in June 2008. Congratulations Natacha and Dave. Good luck and we'll miss you around the clinic during your intensive first year of parenting!
- Dr. Amanda Campbell is our newest veterinarian. She started here in April 2008 and is getting to know our patients, clientelle and staff, as well as our community. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 2004. Prior to her work here, she has practiced veterinary medicine in Alberta and Nanaimo. We're thrilled to have her join our veterinary team.
