Our Receptionists
The receptionist's job is a very demanding one. They are the first contact for many people who call or enter the clinic with questions, requests, appointments or emergencies. Often times, many people are in need of their attention simultaneously. These women do their utmost to make sure that everyone gets the attention they require as promptly as possible. Maureen 2010 Maureen has been with the practice for the longest of all our reception staff. Maureen has been with us since 1988. She is a very thoughtful and caring person who goes out of her way to make others feel good. Although she's a receptionist, she also makes a great deal of effort to spend time with patients in the kennel rooms. Maureen is a wonderful asset to our veterinary hospital because of her natural desire to help everyone and her great sense of compassion.
Kathy Dec, 2000 Kathy has been a receptionist with our hospital since 1997. She came to us with many years experience at veterinary clinics both here and in Calgary. She has a very efficient and professional manner and has a desire to help anyone in need. Kathy has a big heart for both people and their pets.
Karli Karli has worked as an assistant in the technical end of the practice as well as on reception. Her obvious love of animals is evidenced by her own household -- an ever-changing huge number of cats, dogs, horses (and an increasing array of species)!
Genevieve joined our team in November 2004. She has lots of experience with customer service and, of course, a life-long love of our 4-legged creatures. With this combination of attributes, she makes a wonderful addition to our reception staff.
In late 2009, Genevieve also took on the role of Housecall Assistant to Dr. Allen. Most recently, she's taken special interest in assisting spay and neuter clinics in Mexico annually.
Patty Dec.'07 Patty joined our team in Fall 2007. She's helping us a great deal while also raising two small children as well. Patty is a calm, quiet influence with a warm maternal tendency towards all those she assists and works with.
Jennifer 2007 Jennifer has worked with us in reception since Spring 2006.
Since then she has been a dependable and friendly part of our reception desk.
Part of Jen's story took a sharp turn a couple years after she started working with us. She has always been a keen equestrian and very involved with horses throughout her life, but unfortunately, was tragically injured after being thrown from a horse in May 2008.
She sustained significant spinal cord damage and was away from work for a year. It has been a challenge for her to resume her life (and come back to work) in a wheelchair, but she has been an amazing fighter and continues to be a valuable member of our team.

Pat started on our reception desk in the Fall of 2009. She is friendly, efficient and compassionate. She also has the best laugh going.
Megan is our newest receptionist. She started in the Fall of 2011. She previously volunteered at our clinic as a student (in 2006) and we are happy now to introduce her as a staff member to our clients and their pets.
